NOV 02 - Cabinet meeting at Everest
KATHMANDU: Forest Minister Deepak Bohora on Monday said the government of Nepal will organise a Cabinet meeting at the Everest Base Camp to raise awareness on climate change in the Himalayas and draw international attention on this issue ahead of the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. According to him, the cabinet will travel to Everest Base Camp at 5,369 m and attend the meeting. However, the date and venue of the meeting is yet to be decided.

MORANG: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said he will step down from the post if the UCPN (Maoist) comes up with a majority.
at the inauguration of the newly constructed Manmohan Memorial Polytechinc at Hattimuda VDC in Morang district on Monday. The prime minister said neither drafting a new constitution, nor elections would be possible unless Maoist combatants and their weapons were managed. He added that the government’s top priority was to manage Maoist weapons and expedite constitution writing. (PR)
