KATHMANDU, SEP 09 -
The number of former Maoist combatants aspiring to be integrated into the Nepal Army has reached 1,271 in the first four days of the selection process.
Altogether 1,174 male and 97 female fighters from seven cantonment divisions have filled up forms seeking integration, according to the Directorate of the Public Relations of the Nepal
Army. The NA is conducting physical tests, medical tests and written examination in coordination with the Public Service Commission.
Results of the selection tests will be announced in the first week of October. Meanwhile, distribution of voluntary retirement package to the ex-fighters not going for integration will start on Wednesday.
