Maoist act leaves two sisters in the lurch
Elima Yonjan who is enrolled in class ten at a local school and her 10-year-old sister Anima Yonjan were compelled to live a secluded life due to the rebels’ insensible act on 19 September.
Following the Maoists’ plunder, their parents have taken shelter in the district headquarters.
Earlier, the sisters had lived in the house of their maternal uncle but returned to their own house following the deployment of army near in the village. The two sisters broke the lock of the house with the help of the army, and have been living there since December 16. Since their parents are still living in the district headquarters, the sisters have managed their food, blankets and other essential materials from their neighbours and other villagers.Posted on: 2004-01-19 04:14
