Unpunctual mayors

KATHMANDU, JAN 18 - The interaction programme was to discuss the work of the Mayors of Kathmandu and Lalitpur. The people were gathered to eagerly ask questions to the mayors. So what if the Minister could not make it? At least they would be able to question the mayors.
Half an hour after the scheduled time came Lalitpur Mayor Buddhi Raj Bajracharya. He waited for the Mayor of Kathmandu. But, he lost his patience after 20 minutes and left the place abruptly. So did the people.
It was only after an hour that Kathmandu Mayor Keshav Sthapit swayed into the programme, a little in a lighter mood after attending the Bouddha street festival. But, the hall was already empty.Posted on: 2004-01-19 03:55
