NOV 20 - Spey Livet golf from today
KATHMANDU: The third edition of the Spey Livet Golf Tournament will tee off at the Royal Nepal Golf Club on Saturday. According to the organisers Royal Nepal Golf Club and Spey Livet, more than 80 players will participate in the one-day tournament which will be played under ¾ stable ford format.
The winner of the tournament will receive two round tickets to Bangkok while the runner up will get two round ticket to Delhi. Tashi Sherpa and S.P. Rajendra Shrestha were the winners of the first and second edition of the tournament respectively. Saturday's tournament is one out of the three organised by Himalayan Distillery annually. (PR)
Rs. 110 m SAG budget
KATHMANDU: The programming and budget for the 11th South Asian Games (SAG) has been approved on Friday. The National Sports Council's 70th board meeting chaired by Minister for Youth and Sports Ganesh Tiwari Nepali made the decision to set aside Rs. 110 million for SAG.
SEB and Newton in final
KATHMANDU: SEB and Newton will vie for the Ninth Annal Joyti Running Cup. SEB won the match on Friday against hosts Annal Joyti 25-14, 25-10, 25-18 to cement their place in the final. Likewise, Newton edged Gyan Bigyan 25-16, 25-13, 25-8 to reach the final. In the mini boys category, Annal Joyti 'A' and Newton advanced to the final. Annal Joyti 'A' nailed Annal Joyti 'B' 23-25, 25-16, 25-9 while Newton defeated Gyanodaya 15-25, 29-27, 25-18, 25-15, 15-12.
South Asian body building
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Body Building and Fitness Association is all set to host the Sixth South Asian Body Building Championship through June 4-6 in Kathmandu. The championship will feature men's 55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 80 kg, 85 kg and above 85 kg categories.
