Signature Club Golf C’ship
KATHMANDU, NOV 19 - The intra-club rounds of Signature Club Golf Championship will be played at Gokarna Forest Golf Resort. The tournament starting Nov. 21 has a budget of Rs. 35 million and features around 80 players from nine clubs, the organisers said at press meet on Thursday.
For the first time in Nepal, the tournament is being played in a unique and exciting format of power play where only 9 holes will come into play instead of 18. Players must play 3 power plays between 1-8 holes and will have an option of going for a bonus power play on the 9th hole. Net birdie or better in extra holes will be rewarded with double the points.
The selected six-member team will face All-India representatives at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC) on Dec. 8. Over 7,000 amateur golfers from 43 clubs across 30 cities will feature in the championship, with the finalists getting a chance to play at the Blue Canyon Golf Club in Phuket, Thailand on Dec. 16.
