NOV 19 - NNIPA meet PM

KATHMANDU: The Nepal National and International Players' Association (NNIPA) on Thursday submitted a memorandum of understanding to Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal requesting financial assistance for former national taekwondo player Manju Tuladhar, who is suffering from kidney ailment. During the meet, president of the association Deepak Bista thanked the Prime Minister for the helping hand he had lent for the treatment of volleyball player Dinesh Baniya.  The Prime Minister in reply said he would do his best to help the ailing player and also stressed on the need to establish a welfare fund for sportspersons.



Annal Jyoti in finals

KATHMANDU: Host Annal Jyoti and New Diamond advanced to the final of the girl's category of the Annal Jyoti Valley-wide Volleyball Tournament, on Thursday. For the final berth, Annal Jyoti defeated Samakhusi English Boarding School (SEBS) 25-11, 25-20 and 25-21, while their adversaries in the finals, New Diamond, downed Angels' Heart School 25-11, 25-23, 25-10.
