Ideal employee
NOV 19 - The employee is one who follows the rules and regulations and is loyal to the employer — as a boss of a factory, a manager of a firm or a head of a corporation. Thus he becomes in short order one to depend upon and who asks for little else in return but to serve with a will.
This worker needs no incentives or motivations to put in hard, steady and regular work. Always punctual, he works the shifts and does not begrudge the workload, however big. And he is only too willing to take up the burden imposed. He even volunteers to do overtime if the need arises and especially when there is a backlog of work.
He may have been employed for a short indefinite period yet he turns out to be an asset as far as his contributions are concerned. And hardly requires any supervision at this point. For he is capable of taking an initiative and improvising on the spur of the moment. To accomplish this is no mean thing but he could not care less although he appreciates the concern shown.
The workload is only a means to forge links with colleagues. There is nothing he will not do to promote a congenial atmosphere. He always responds with a quiet efficiency to the demands at hand. He does not like any form of praise although he accepts it as his due.
He is always on call if his services are required and puts in his daily hours without fail. There is always something that needs attention and he attends to it without wasting any time. There is a detachment in his method but there is nothing superficial about it.
As such he does not go overboard and complain but proves time and again his ability to work under pressure. The stint of duty does not affect his routine but only goes to provide grist to his grim humour. At par with the best in the workforce he becomes known for sheer professionalism — a trick he has learned to adapt to the system.
He never forgets to learn a lesson from any slip-up or mistake and is equally unforgiving of others who do not follow suit. Never the one to be sidelined he has a practical, sound advice aimed at instilling confidence and restoring self-esteem.
There is always an aura of youthfulness about him for he is ready to assist, guide and instruct those under him considering this as a part of his job.
