New book on civil war
KATHMANDU, NOV 19 - The third volume in the A People's War trilogy, edited by Kunda Dixit will be launched on Nov. 21. The book, entitled People After War, depicts the lives of the characters photographed in the first book, to reveal what has happened to them in the years since.
The book is to be launched by nepalaya at an event that coincides with the anniversary of the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
The book features photographs and profiles highlighting the daily struggle for survival of the relatives of those who were killed or disappeared during the war. Editor Dixit said, “They are all uplifting because they prove just how resilient and hopeful the Nepali people are about the future, despite the sorrows of war they lived through.”
