Some NC leaders want to disslove CA: UML Vice-Chair

KANTIPUR REPORT
Some NC leaders approached his party with the CA dissolution proposal saying if the constitution is made at present it would be more favourable to the Maoists.
KATHMANDU, NOV 07 - A senior CPN-UML leader on Saturday claimed that plots are being hatched to dissolve the Constituent Assembly.

Some leaders of the Nepali Congress had put forth a proposal to dissolve the Constituent Assembly, said UML Vice Chairman Ashok Rai. “The UML, however, rejected the proposal,” said he.

According to him, the proposal had offered to form a constituent commission to make a new constitution

Speaking at a progamme in the capital today, Rai claimed that some NC leaders approached his party with the CA dissolution proposal saying if the constitution is made at present it would be more favourable to the Maoists.

According to Rai, the country is heading to a perilous crisis, and charged that the Maoists and some leaders of other parties are responsible for that. He claimed that their negligence towards the constitution-making could be a part of the conspiracy.

Baseless claim: KC

Meanwhile, talking to ekantipur, NC Spokesperson Arjun Narsingh KC dubbed Rai’s claim baseless. Congress has not thought about the dissolution of the CA, said he. He however said that if Rai had clearly pointed out any names, it would be easier for the NC to look into the matter.

“It is sad that such a remark came from a responsible leader,” said he.
