Manipal hospital shut down

The agitating doctors walked out of the hospital saying that working environment was ruined after doctors were manhandled inside hospital premises
POKHARA, NOV 04 - The entire services including the emergency have come to a grinding halt at Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara on Wednesday after the doctors kept their hands off their work citing security reasons.

The doctors stayed away from their work after the relatives of a patient, who died yesterday while undergoing treatment at the hospital, manhandled doctors showing their negligence led to the death.

Patients seeking health services were forced to return. The agitating doctors walked out of the hospital saying that working environment was ruined after doctors were manhandled inside hospital premises. A meeting between the hospital administration and the deceased person's relatives that was expected to happen earlier today could not take place.

The hospital became tense thought Tuesday after Tilak Khanal, resident of Lekhnath Municipality, died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
