KATHMANDU, SEP 15 - Guitar Maestro, a national-level guitar competition, is being organised by Seagram's Royal Stag in association with Nepal Sangeet Vidhyalay.
The competition will be filmed and aired in Image Channel as a 60-minute long 26-episode reality show. Over a hundred participants from all over Nepal are to be selected through auditions for the programme.
The 100 participants will be short-listed to 10, and will compete for the title of “Guitar Maestro 2010”. The first round of short-listing will be done through SMS sent to 8585.
The top 3 competitors will be decided on the Valentine's Day at Hotel Yak & Yeti.
The top three will each be given a cash prize, a special guitar, and a music deal. The winner is to get Rs. one lakh in cash, a guitar worth Rs. two lakh, and royalty from the sales of his or her album.
Auditions in Kathmandu will be held at Nepal Sangeet Vidhyalaya, Gaushala, between 10 am and 2 pm on Sept. 15. The program's official website is guitarmaestro.org.
