Ransom Kidnappers arrested

NAWALPARASI, SEP 14 - Police arrested six persons, including a woman, suspecting them of being a gang of abductors from the district.

They were arrested from Dumkibas in the district by tracking the numbers of those involved in demanding ransom.



Three of the nine persons, who were actively involved in abductions and making ransom-calls, succeeded in fleeing, the police informed. Police have been carrying out the search operation to track them down.



The arrested have been identified as Purna Bahadur Nepali, Parbati Nepali, of Dumkibas VDC-6, Ghanshyam Khamcha of ward-1, Shanta Bahdur Acharya, Kishan Gurung, and Rajesh Nigam, of Nayabelhani.



According to DSP Shyam Bahadur Khatri, a letter pad belonging to Nepal People's Army has also been recovered from them.



They had taken Rs 1 million form Maheshwor Sapkota of Madhabeliya -4 in Rupandehi, Rs 60,000 from Ramdev Mahaseth of Dhumkibas, and Rs. 0.3 million from Madan Badhai of Devgaun, the police said.
