Home Ministry transfers 20 CDOs

KATHMANDU, SEP 13 - The Home Ministry has transferred 20 Chief District Officers and reshuffled the ministry, the first move since Bhim Rawal took charge as the Home Minister.

Ratna Raj Pandey, Joint Secretary of the Home Ministry, has been transferred from as Division Chief of Peace and Security to the Management Division under the ministry.

Jaya Mukunda Khanal, who recently returned from China, has been assigned to look after the Peace and Security Division and spokesperson of the ministry from Sunday, a source told to the Post.

Shree Batsa Ghimire, who was took charge of the Management Division earlier, has been transferred as CDO of Makawanpur.

Likewise, Joint Secretary Hari Krishan Poudel is the new CDO of Kailai. Other officials transferred as CDOs are Bed Bhadur Kari (Dhanusha), Shambu Koirala (Kaski), Kamal Mani Kafle (Gorkha), Jeevan Oli (Rasuwa), Ravi Kafle (Taplejung), Beni Madhav Gywali (Bardiya), Govinda Bhurtel (Nuwakot) and Deepak Nepal (Bhaktapur).

Similarly, the other CDOs include Shiva Nepal (Tanahnu), Shambu Marasini (Rukum), Nagendra Jha (Ruphandehi), Shiva Ghimire (Kapilvastu) and Hari Bastola (Rolpa).

Keshav Acharya and Ram Prasad Ghimire have been named as the new CDOs of Khotang and Saptari districts. Ram Bilas Rai has been brought back in the ministry and Dev Raj Dhakal has become the acting CDO of Kaski district.

Asked on the reshuffle, a senior Home Ministry official said that this is a regular one. Considering the need to implement the government’s Special Security Stragety, the officials have been transferred, he said.
