NC, UML, Madhesis in for CA resurrection: Dahal
CHITWAN, SEP 10 - UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that all the parties are almost on the same line to agree for the resurrection of Constituent Assembly . He said that reinstating CA is not impossible if all the parties work for it.
Claiming that election is the last option rather than the first one, Dahal revealed that Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML and the Madhes-based parties have more or less agreed on reinstating the CA.
Addressing a program organised at Chitwan on Monday Dahal said that there would be questions raised on the leadership of government if the parties opt for an election now. Hence, he claimed that there is no alternative to reinstating CA.
Moreover, Dahal notified that CA had finished almost all the works for the promulgation of constitution . He said that the constitution could not be released in May because of the controversies over states and the names.
Furthermore, Dahal said he is confident that the deadlocks would be unwound within this month.
“The situation would go out of hands if we delay the reinstating process. So we need to revive it as soon as possible,” said Dahal.
Dahal further claimed that none of the parties would be able to collect majority votes if they opt for elections now and that would not solve the current political deadlocks.
