The district convention of Nepali Congress (NC) held on Friday has elected Tek Prasad Gurung as the district president.
Gurung secured 367 votes while erstwhile president Bikash Koirala got 140 votes. The NC Central Committee had dissolved the district committee after it was divided into two factions following the murder of Shiva Poudel, then district chairman of Tarun Dal, in district prison.
