PM's advisor raps President for rejecting ordinances

Political advisor to the Prime Minister, Devendra Poudel, has said that the President sending back the ordinance s related to election is undemocratic and unconstitutional.
Speaking in a programme organized in the Capital on Saturday, Poudel said that the government was preparing to send the ordinance s rejected by the President back to the President as it is again.
"We will again send the ordinance s sent back by the President to him as per the international law. The President has no option but to issue them," Poudel said.
The PM’s political advisor also said that the President rejecting the ordinance s recommended by the Council of Ministers was not beneficial to the democratic system. He alleged that the environment for holding the election was being thwarted due to the President.
He objected to the press communiqué of the Office of the President regarding the President rejecting two election-related ordinance s citing it was irrelevant to issue the ordinance s as election was not possible on the date announced by the government.
Poudel said, "The ordinance s are being brought as per the suggestion of the Election Commission for announcing the election dates only after making the election-related legislation. How can you make the legislation and hold the election when the President has rejected the ordinance ?"
He said only two alternatives- building national consensus and ordinance s—were available for holding the election and that they chose the latter as the chances of national consensus were very slim.
Poudel reiterated that the prime minister would not resign in the present condition, merely because the opposition parties were calling for his resignation. RSS
