Koirala should lead nat’l govt: NC district prezs

KATHMANDU, AUG 02 - The district presidents of Nepali Congress (NC) on Thursday suggested the party President Sushil Koirala to lead the national consensus government.
During a press conference organised in the Capital on Thursday, NC Kathmandu President Bhimsen Das Pradhan said that Koirala is the NC’s unanimous candidate for the post of prime minister at the current juncture.
“NC President Koirala is the best candidate to lead the national government. If he puts forth his name no one else will have the authority to oppose him,” said Pradhan.
Claiming that the candidate chosen by Koirala would be the next prime minister, NC Gulmi President Chandra KC said that the party would finalise the nomination within 10 days.
Similarly, NC Dolakha President Tara Bahadur Koirala said that Sudhil Koirala was the best candidate for the leadership. However, he claimed that if Koirala rejects the proposal then either Ram Chandra Poudel or Sher Bahadur Koirala would be recommended for the same.
Furthermore, NC Kavre President Shiva Prasad Humagain said that the NC could dethrone the prime minister within a day. Humagain further claimed that the leadership of the national consensus government would be taken by NC.
