SUNDARIJAL, JUL 21 - Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation , Post Bahadur Bogati , on Saturday said the Ministry has initiated process to declare late Nepali Congress leader BP Koirala as a National Hero.
At a programme organized by BP Museum Committee Sundarijal on the occasion of the BP Memorial Day, Minister Bogati said the Ministry was positive about promoting the museum to the national level. Late BP was not only a poitical and literary figure but also a campaigner of social movement, he added.
Reminding the reconciliation policy of Koirala, Minister Bogati said, "National progress was impossible without political consensus which is the spirit of the late BP's reconciliation policy."
Ministry Secretary Dr Ganesh Joshi said government was positive about declaring BP a national luminary in recognition to his contribution to nation.
Ram Lal Shrestha of the Nepali Congress, Janardan Khadka of CPN-UML and astrologer Bashu Dev Shastri spoke on the contribution of the late BP Koirala on Nepali politics and literature.
The programme was presided over by Vice-Chairman of the Museum Committee, Hemant Kishor Pandit. RSS
