3 families displaced, dozens at risk

KATHMANDU, JUL 21 -

Three families have been displaced by flood s and landslides, while dozens of houses are at risk in various districts.

Two households at Mehele VDC-9 in Taplejung were displaced by flood s triggered by incessant rainfall on Thursday. Local resident Dipendra Kadariya said the victims are taking shelter in their relative’s houses. Floods have also damaged the building of Area Sub Health Post at Thuki VDC and that its equipment have been shifted to a safer place, according to chief of the health post, Motilal Chhedi. He said that the health post has been providing services to the patients from residential rooms.

Similarly, a family at Chamunda VDC-1 in Dailekh was displaced by flood s and 17 houses are at risk. Landslide s have damaged more than a dozen houses in Jirikhimti, Morahang, Paithak, Solma, Sungnam, Phulek and Basantapur VDCs in Terhathum.
