KATHMANDU, JUL 01 -

The Supreme Court has refused to issue an interim order on the writ seeking intervention to stop the government’s plan to bring out a complete budget. The apex court ruling has opened the door for the government to bring out the full budget .

Earlier, a writ was filed at SC seeking interim order against the government’s plan to bring a full budget .

A division bench of SC justices Damodar Prasad Sharma and Ram Kumar Sah ruled that it was not necessary to issue an interim order to halt the bringing of full budget as the term political consensus is abstract.

However, the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, among other opposition parties, have been piling pressure upon the government to give up its intention to bring out the full budget without consensus.

A writ had been filed at the SC arguing that the government needs to respect Article 43 of the Interim Constitution that calls for consensus among parties while bring out the budget.
