Landslide claims one

GAJURI, JUN 27 -

A person died in Gumdi VDC after his store house collapsed in landslides triggered by constant rainfall.

Fifteen houses and three schools have also crumbled to the ground in various parts of the district.

Police said Jumansingh Gurung, 68, of Chimchok in Gumdi VDC died as the paddy store collapsed.

Fifteen houses including in Gumdi, Fulkharka, Mulpani, and Baseri VDCs have been collapsed from landslides.

School buildings of Panchakanya Primary Budhathum, Devisthan Primary of Baseri and Baseri Secondary School have also collapsed.

Manapang River has also washed away more than 50 hectares of land and has damaged Manapang Micro Hydro and the Andherikhola Micro Hydro has also been damaged from rains, said a local Shambhu Thapa. RSS
