Baidhya faction ratifies new party proposal
KATHMANDU, JUN 18 -
A majority of the leaders of dissident faction of the UCPN (Maoist) led by Senior Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya on Monday ratified the proposal to declare the formation of a new party .
Expressing their views on the proposal tabled by leader Baidya during the ongoing national conclave of the Maoist hardline faction at Sherpa Service Committee in Bouddha, 21 leaders stressed on the need to form a new party defecting from the Maoist party, a participant of the conclave informed.
Hardliner leaders including Sharad Singh Bhandari and Saraswati Pokhrel remarked that the formation of a new party should not be delayed anymore and demanded action against the establishment leaders.
It has been learnt that there is a growing possibility of endorsing the proposal to form a new party after leader Baidya gives his response. The group leaders have understandably suggested that the new party should be named as CPN-Maoist (Revolutionary) .
In Sunday’s meet, Standing Committee member Dev Gurung had proposed naming the party as CPN-Maoist (Revolutionary) .
Saying that the party’s roadmap outlined by leader Baidya was not clear, the leaders speaking at the meet suggested the leadership to bring out revolutionary working guidelines.
Some of the leaders have also underlined the need to resort to armed struggle.
