Nepal, China share unique ties, says PM

Lauding the northern neighbour's contribution in Nepal's economic and social development, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said the relations between Nepal and China is unique.

China deserves praise for its continued assistance to build infrastructure in Nepal, he said here today while inaugurating the new building of National Nature Conservation Trust (NNCT) constructed with Chinese assistance.   

As part of its effort to modernize NNCT, China's assistance to construct the building is a symbol of friendly relations between Nepal and China, the Prime Minister said.

"Forming a group of Himalayan countries, we will draw the world's attention to resolve the problems of high hilly and Himalayan countries," he said.

At the programme, Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation and Chairman of NNCT Deepak Bohara said the increasing Chinese assistance for nature conservation is matter of pride for Nepal.

Similarly, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Qiu Guohong said China has been supporting Nepal in economic, social, nature and technological sectors to strengthen relations between the two countries. He also said that China will continue its support for Nepal.
