NC General Convention date likely to be deferred

KATHMANDU, Feb 09 - The 12th General Convention of ruling party Nepali Congress (NC) scheduled for mid-March is likely to be deferred owing to inadequate homework.

At the Central Committee meeting on Tuesday, the CC members voiced for deferring the GC date. They said necessary preparations for the GC were not complete.

The CC decided to extend the deadline for the renewal of and distribution of party membership.

According to NC central member Bhishma Raj Angdembe, the meeting decided to handover the responsibility regarding the distribution of party membership to the party office bearers.

The meeting of NC office bearers will take place in the capital tomorrow.

He added that the NC CC meeting on Thursday will take the final decision on finalising the date for party’s GC.
