Over dozen cops injured in clash with illegal settlers
A clash broke out between the security personnel and the illegal settlers in Mathiyani, Mahottari district on Sunday after the police tried to dismantle the huts and make-shift camps set up by them.
Over a dozen police personnel were injured after the illegal settlers pelted stones at the settlers. The policemen fired five rounds of tear gas shells to disperse the agitating mob. The police took such steps after the settlers captured nearly five bighas of land and erected more than 100 huts.
Earlier, four persons including a police man were killed after the police used force to evict illegal squatters backed by the Maoists from Dudhejhari forest in Kailali district.
