Maoists withhold 'fresh protest' for a few days
The main opposition party UCPN (Maoist) decided to hold on their protest for a couple more days saying that the chances of consensus is still alive.
A meeting of Maoist politburo members held at the Maoist Central Office in Koteshwor today, decided to hold on their protest until the ailing Nepali Congress (NC) President returns from Singapore.
The meeting decided to seek solution to the political imbroglio after NC President’s arrival and through a meeting of three major political parties—UCPN (M), NC, CPN-UML.
According to Maoist Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma, the meeting also decided to resort to protests if the meeting failed to forge consensus.
Sharma also said that the decision taken by the politburo meeting will be presented at the central committee (CC) meeting scheduled for 1 this afternoon.
The central committee meeting will also make public the party’s new opinion about the solution to the current political stalemate.
Meanwhile, it has been learnt that the meeting will also hold discussions on easing house obstruction to let the budget pass. The Maoist chair at his yesterday’s meeting with the Prime Minister seemed positive on the issue of budget
