Current coalition 'natural', says PM Nepal
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal Saturday said that the government backed by a majority of the Constituent Assembly (CA) members can not be a puppet one.
Speaking at a programme organised by his party (CPN-UML) in Kathmandu today, the Prime Minister rebuffed the Maoists' claims that the current UML-led government is a puppet of foreign counties and asserted the current ruling coalition is natural.
Upon his arrival at the TIA from Singapore a few days ago, Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had said that the incumbent UML-coalition was 'unnatural' and that a natural coalition would be formed soon.
The premier also said that the protests launched by the Unified CPN (Maoist) demanding the establishment of civilian supremacy is uncalled for.
"No any single party can define civilian supremacy," said Nepal, adding," Maoists definition has revolved around forming their own government".
He further said that if the Maoists continued to display anarchic activities that would backfire on themselves.
Also on the occasion, he urged the main opposition UCPN (M) not to put budget endorsement as a condition for defusing the political deadlock.
Claiming that a chaotic situation would envelop the nation if the annual budget was not endorsed at the earliest, the Prime Minister said the Maoists would be responsible for such situation.
