Task force meet inconclusive yet again
Kathmandu, Nov 20 - The meeting of the task force formed to finalise the draft of joint resolution motion to be tabled at the parliament to defuse the political crisis ended inconclusively on Friday as well.
The meeting held in Singha Durbar ended without making headway after both the contending sides stuck to their respective stances.
The agitating UCPN (Maoist) remains firm in its stand that the “president’s unconstitutional move’ should be clearly mentioned in the draft, while the NC and the UML do not want any changes in the draft.
The Maoists want to mention in the draft that this crisis situation was invited by the president’s unconstitutional move, UML leader and the task force member Yubaraj Gyawali informed.
Following the indecision situation, the task force decided to hand over the responsibility to finalise the draft to the top leaders of the parties.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the top leaders of the major three parties is scheduled to take place later today to find a way out of the deadlock situation.
The meeting of the three-member task force was postponed on Thursday after it failed to make any concrete decision owing to lack of necessary homework.
The task force comprising Maoist leader Dev Gurung, NC leader Arjun Narshingh KC and UML’s Yubaraj Gyawli was revived on Wednesday to forge consensus to defuse the protracted political deadlock.
