Secondary market falls 2.76 points

Kathmandu, Nov 19 - The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday fell 2.76 points. The NEPSE index settled at 562.22 points when trading closed.

Among the four sub-indices that traded on NEPSE, only one of them could manage to witness an increase while the other three declined. The finance sector was the only gainer rising 0.2 point while the development bank sector lost the most shedding 2.47 points.

The share market witnessed a total turnover of Rs. 28.29 million with 56,645 shares being traded. Shares of 52 companies changed hands on NEPSE.

Among the 21 commercial banks present on the trading floor, Nepal SBI Bank was the biggest gainer adding 44 points. Everest Bank dropped 35 points.

Similarly, among the 14 development banks whose shares were traded on NEPSE on Wednesday, Pashupati Development Bank witnessed the highest increase of 15 points while Chhimek Vikas Bank lost 36 points.

Among the 12 finance companies on NEPSE, General Finance was the highest gainer with an increase of 23 points in its share price. Nepal Credit and Commercial Bank promoter share lost 54 points.

The top five winners on NEPSE were Gandaki Finance with a 8.65 percent rise in its stock price followed by Narayani Development Bank, Pashupati Development Bank, Nepal SBI Bank and Clean Energy Development Bank.

Standard Chartered Bank topped the chart in terms of turnover with Rs. 4.567 million.
