Maoist-aligned workers shut industries in Dharan
The Maoist-aligned workers called an indefinite shutdown of the industries operating at Dharan industrial area from Thursday.
Accusing the management of the four medical factories in Dharan of not fulfilling their demands, the Maoist-aligned workers have called an indefinite shut down of the industrial area in the region.
Due to the closure, some 20 industries operating in the industrial area have been closed.
Local Maoist leader Asok Rai said that they had called indefinite shutdown of the industries to press for their demands of providing salaries, perks, benefits as per the Labor Act.
Rai added that the management had turned deaf ear to their demands, which they had been raising for the past 17 days.
Several important industries including Dharan Dairy, Mahabir Industry, Surya Metal, among others, have been forced to shutdown due to the Maoists closure.
