China to open Kerung border for tourists
China government has decided to open Kerung border, that share border with Rasuwa district, to tourists as well from beginning of the January. Prior to this, the border was opened only for trade purpose. Similarly, Tibetan tourism entrepreneurs have been preparing to open a new tourist track from Lhasa to Kathmandu for in their attempt to tourism.
Quoting Tourism Bureau of Tibet Autonomous State, Chinese media today informed that the Kerung border would be opened to tourists from January 2010. Kerung Bazaar, which is filled with natural beauties and dense forest, is also known as the garden of Mt. Everest.
Chinese tourism entrepreneurs have prepared a 6-day tour package to the tourists including sight seeing of Sagarmatha route, Kerung Bazaar and finally to Kodari border.
Likewise, Chinese tourism entrepreneurs are preparing to search a new trekking route to reach Mansarobar of Tibet via Mustang, Nepal as per the agreement met between the officials of Nepal Tourism Board and Tibet Tourism Bureau in the recent past in Kathmandu, the news confirmed.
