Two killed in separate road accidents
NAWALPARASI, Oct 16 - A woman died on the spot and other two critically injured when a speeding vehicle rammed her at Dumkibas-8 in Nawalparasi district along the East West Highway Friday morning.
The deceased identified as Jyoti Shahi of Naya Belhaani, who had set out on a morning walk, died at around 4:15 this morning, police informed.
Critically injured Saraswati Malla and Poonam Lama have been undergoing treatment at the Bharatpur Medical College.
The vehicle and its driver are still at large. The police have intensified its search.
The locals and the relatives demonstrated and obstructed the highway briefly following the accident, demanding action against guilty and compensation to the family.
However, the police resumed transportation along the highway by using force.
Likewise, in another accident, a motorcycle rider died on the spot and another one critically injured after a tractor rammed them at Jhumka-Inaruwa road section along the East West highway in Sunsari district.
The tractor (Ko 1 Ta 5226) heading for the east from western district hit the motorcycle (Ko 1 Pa 8750) coming from the opposite direction.
The deceased has been identified as motorcycle rider Madhav Raj Luitel, 36, of Panchakanya-2, Sunsari, police informed.
Pillion rider Biren Kuwarg has sustained critical injuries and is undergoing treatment at the BP Koirala institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.
